After discovering the wonder, delight and hedonism that was Potato Head Beach Club & Bar, I spent some time (not much, mind you!) exploring the surrounding streets of Seminyak. I discovered that it’s a neighbourhood of contrasts. Dusty streets, overloaded motorbikes, street food stalls and stray dogs contrasted with luxe villas, high-end boutiques, ultra-cool beach bars, fancy-shmancy restaurants, covetable home-wares and artisanal wares. Personally, that’s my kinda town. A final word on Bali: If you’re planning on going, I would highly recommend splitting your time between Ubud (lush, quiet, elevated) and Seminyak, or similar. It gives a great overview of two quintessential aspects of this unique and addictive island.
